Best High School Hack @ HackCanada 2025
Me and my team were able to win the Best High School Hack at Hack Canada 2025, a hackathon where over 400 university and high school students compete, with more than 89 projects being submitted! The theme of the event was to solve current issues in Canada. The first issue that came to our mind was the hugely ignored opioid overdose crisis in Canada. To combat this issue, we developed NaloxNow, a Naloxone kit (a kit that contains opioid antidotes) finder app, this app can help solve the largely unsolved issue of opioid overdosing in Canada.
3rd Runner Up at NeoDev Developer League
Me and my team from Laurel Heights (Team 2) participated and managed to get 3rd runner up at the Neodev Developer League, which was a hackathon that students from schools around Waterloo participated in. We created HarmoniQ, an app utilizes facial recognition to detect your mood, and give you appropriate mental health tips, as well as play songs to cheer you up. Our goal was to help those who struggle with mental health, and were successfully able to create a functioning backend, and front-end - all in the span of 10 hours!
Best Youth Leader Award
I won the best leader award for my outstanding leadership skills that I showcased during my time as a Youth Leader at ICNA Relief Canada. This included being a leader and helping guide others, taking ownership and proactively getting tasks done.
PeddieHacks 2024 Winners
I participated and won my first ever Hackathon that I attended, PeddieHacks. PeddieHacks is an 48 hour, online hackathon, with over 320 participants this year. Our project submission category was under Travel, and our project was a Travel Translator app called Globingo. This app of ours could translate from English to a variety of languages, all you had to do was enter your destination country and text you wanted to translate! It was a great experience building such a project in 48 hours and I am glad that we were able to win.
